English name hexachlorobenzene: molecular formula CarH, molecular weight 506.98.This article comes from: https://fireworkslit.com/Fireworkslit-https://fireworkslit.com/fireworks-commonly-used-materials-24-paraffin-properties/
- Physicochemical properties. Appearance and properties: white, odourless, tasteless, transparent crystals; melting point: 47 ~ 65 ℃; boiling point: > 371 ℃; relative density (water = 1): 0.88 ~ 0.92; solubility: insoluble in water, insoluble in acid, soluble in benzene, gasoline, hot ethanol, chloroform, carbon disulphide and so on.
- Health Hazards. Inhalation of high concentration vapours of this product causes headache, dizziness, cough, loss of appetite, vomiting and diarrhoea. Prolonged exposure can cause skin damage. Skin cancer has been reported from exposure to unrefined paraffin.
- Hazardous Characteristics. Flash point: 199°C. Flammable when exposed to open flame and high heat.
- Emergency Response to Leakage. Isolate leaking contaminated area and restrict access. Cut off fire source. It is recommended that emergency personnel wear a dust mask (full face shield) and general work clothes. If small amount spilled, collect in dry, clean, covered container with clean shovel. If large amount spills, collect for recovery.
